Relief work continue in disaster affected areas of Pithoragarh district

PITHORAGARH, August 7

The    construction works as well as search, rescue and relief operations continued in the disaster-affected areas of the district on Tuesday. On Tuesday 279 members of the 83 families were staying in relief camps in 16 locations in the disaster affected area and were provided food etc and all necessary arrangement including medical examination by health department. Till Tuesday, a total of 101 medical camps by the department were held where 3348 people were given free medicines. The relief amount of 85 lakh 69 thousand 226 Rupees has been disbursed to 419 disaster affected people out of 439 persons by the Revenue department till August 7, 2018. The pedestrian road has been constructed at U-Sobla-Sela-Dar-Tidang Motor road under CPWD.  4 roads in a total out of 9 closed roads in till have been opened for traffic while remaining 5 roads are closed. The work was on to open Madkot- Bona rural road, Malakot-Lod, Baluvakot-Payayapaudi,  Jakh-Anwala Ghat, New Sobla-Sela-Tidang road.

A total of 21 bridges were damaged in the disaster-affected areas due to the rainfall earlier and alternative arrangement has been made in 20 bridge and a trolley is being installed in 1 Bridge. Due to inclement weather on Tuesday the work of bringing pilgrims from Naini-Saini and Dharachuula via Heli service could not be done. A total of 204 pilgrims and locals were taken to Guji, Bundi and 344 pilgrims and local people from Bundi, Gunji were taken to Dharchula.  48 drinking Water projects have been temporarily restored by the Peyjal Nigam and out of 67 water supply schemes of 66 have closed drinking water schemes have been temporarily repaired.
