PITHORAGARH, August 5

According to the district emergency control centre 57 pilgrims from 8th group and 52 pilgrims from 9th group are still in China while out of 45 pilgrims, 12 from 7th group have reached Pithoragarh from Gunji on 2nd August via Heli service and are staying there. The remaining 33 pilgrims are still in Gunji.

Out of 37 pilgrims from 10th group 13 pilgrims have reached Gunji from Pithoragarh via Heli services and remaining 24 pilgrims are still in Pithoragarh. The 43 Pilgrims from 11th group are staying at Chakodi. Around 279 members from 83 families are in the disaster relief camps set up in the area. 48 damaged drinking water projects have been restored by Jal Nigam temporarily. The Jal Nigam has restored 64 damaged schemes out of 67 temporarily and work was on to restore the remaining, 3.13 roads have been damaged in the district and work of assessment was on. The water level of Kali river at 8.00 am was at 888.80 m below the danger mark of 890 meters. The water level of Gori River was at 604.90 meters below the danger mark of at 607.80 metres. The water level of Saryu River was 447.40 metres partially below the danger mark of 453 metres.

18 mm rain was recorded at Pithoragarh, 25 mm rain at Berinaag, 5.00 rain at Munsyari, 23 mm rain at Gangolihaat, 12 mm rain at Didihat and 13 mm rain at Dharchula.
