Nainital Cantonment Board finds way to deal with its garbage problem

NAINITAL, July 27

Commisioner Kumaon Division Rajiv Rautela visited the Cantonment area in the lake town of Nainital and praised the cleanliness work done by the cantonment board officials under Swachhta mission here.

The complexion of the whole cantonment area has changed for better and is now and cleaner in comparison to earlier status and the places where the garbage was being dumped earlier have been developed into beautiful parks and in addition to this the primary school has been developed into Smart school in the cantonment through the efforts of CEO Abhishek Rathore with the support of the people under the banner of Nainital Nagrik Association here.

The commissioner before the inspection planted a sapling in the cantonment area.  He felicitated the Nainital Nagrik Association president  Anil Bisht and Vandana Sah involved in vermi-composting by presenting citation and award on the occasion. He also inspected the 20 Bio-Toilets and the park at pines on the occasion. The CEO cantt Rathore informed that earlier the garbage was dumped by the people at several places but the pace has become cleaner with the support of the people in cantonment area.  Two big parks have come up at the earlier dumping sites and 30 more small parks have been developed. He said that the target was achieved only with the support of the people. The commissioner commended the efforts of the cantonment board and said that this modal will be replicated in such a way that whole Nainital becomes clean and beautiful. He said that the work was on at the  plan to develop Haldwani, Rudrapur and Kashipur as completely clean towns and city.
