Three-day Bird watching training program to begin at Uttarkashi

UTTARKASHI, June 28

DM Uttarkashi Dr Ashish Chauhan has initiated a new program titled “Wings of Dreams” to attract the environmentalists and nature lovers to the district. Under this program a three-day Bird watching training program will begun from 29th June for which the DM took the stock of preparations with the officials concerned.

The program will start from 29 June at 5.00 pm at Gangotri collectorate along with other invited public dignitaries.

DM Uttarkashi directed the officials to work for the success of the program seriously and there should be no negligence while conducting the program. He said that the experts in the field will provide information about the birds living in the wild so that the people are sensitised towards environment. He said that the participating  students will be taken for a visit to Nachiketa tal  on the condition of weather being conducive who will compile the data about the birds available in the region. He said that the exercise will lead to increase in number of tourists not only in lake area but around the region.  He said that the knowledge gained here will help the locals to explain the collection of rare bird species to the tourist thus helping in employment generation. He said that the Bird watching had a close relationship with the environment. He added bird watching will prove a milestone in attracting nature loving people and tourists to the region and would also help in curbing migration through employment generating activities created by it. IAS Trainee Namami Bansal, IAS trainee Tushar Saini, District tourism officer Prakash Khatri, EDM Vikas Nayak and others were present on the occasion.
