MUSSOORIE, June 26
Central School for Tibetans (CST) Mussoorie observed “International Day against Substance Abuse” under which various activities were organised to sensitize students and community against drug abuse. The activities were funded by PRM, (The Bureau of Population, Refugees, and Migration) USA.
The events began with “Spot slogan & poster writing”, Essay writing on the topic “Importance of awareness in society against drug abuse” for classes XI & XII and a film on the consequences of drug abuse “MANAS” was screened for the students at resource centre. The school also staged Skits in Tibetan and English languages.
The school Principal Anita Narula and Rector Bhutuk Shastri appreciated the efforts and participation of the students for their effective ways of conveying the message through colorful presentations. They also expressed their hearty thanks to the funding agency PRM, (The Bureau of Population, Refugees, and Migration) USA. They emphasized on regularly organising such sensitizing issues among young learners for their safe and protected future.
The students’ performances on different activities organized on the day will be sent to the Department of Health, DOE, Dharamsala for evaluation. Top five awards in every category would be declared by the DOEH. Teacher Counsellor of the school Anand Kanderi coordinated the day’s programme. He thanked the DOHe, CTE, and Funding agency PRM, USA for their concern towards the children of the school. He also said that these agencies and departments have been forthcoming in motivating the students. Students from all four houses took part in the skit competitions. A mesmerizing presentation of MIME on the issue was presented by a group of students under the leadership of Akash and others.
