DEHRADUN, June 9

Ayush and Forest Minister Harak Singh Rawat inaugurated a newly constructed Ayurvedic Hospital and Panchkarma Unit building at Barkot built at a cost of Rs 53 .91 lakhs and at Ayurvedic Hospital in Chaptadi built at a cost of 65.91 lakhs during a function held on Saturday. The Yamnotri MLA Kedar Singh Rawat was special invitee on the occasion.

Minister Dr. Rawat heard problem of the people at Forest guest house and reached the Ayurveda Hospital complex at Barkot. Uttarakhand government is planning to come up with Ayurveda tourism so that the treatment of the people can be done through Ayurveda Panchkarma system at local level. Dr Rawat said that the Ayurveda treatment and Panchkarma system is being started from Yamnotri and the people from around the country and around the globe will benefit from it.  He said that Yog, Panchkarma and Ayurveda system was being followed with the blessings of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi around the world. He said on 21 June more than 50,000 people together will be participating in Yoga program being held at Dehradun. He said that Panchkarma, Ayurveda, medical system after originating from the land of Ganga and Yamuna will play an important role in improving the health of the people around the world. He said that the Ayurveda medical system will developed on the pattern of Kerala. He said that the forest guest houses in the state will be linked with Panchkarma Ayurveda system and additional tent houses will be arranged in these guest houses where the treatment will be done. He said that Uttarakhand will be made hub for Panchkarma system and one each assistant male and female will be provided at Panchkarma centres. He said that there were around 16 Ayurveda medical colleges out of which 3 were run by government and 13 were run by private organizations while one was in Uttarkashi district. The MLA Yamnotri Kedar Singh Rawat said that the Ayurveda college Hospital and Panchkarma Unit in Yamnotri assembly constituency will be a fine example to be emulated. He said with the construction of this unit the local people will also benefit along with the tourists from around the country and the world.

District Panchayat President Jashoda Rana, district BJP president Shyam Dobhal, Vice-president Parshu Ram Jagudi, General Secretary Sandeep Rana, Pramukh Rachna Bahuguna, Jyesht Pramukh Prakash Aswal, Narayan Singh Chauhan, Ayurveda Clinic director Dr. Arun Kumar Tripathi, Dr. DD Badhani, GN Nautiyal, SDM PN Rana, C. O. GL Kohli, ACMO RC Arya and others were present on the occasion.
