MUSSOORIE, May 21
A book fair –“Pustak Mela,” was held under the aegis of Rainbow Book Distributors at Oak Grove School auditorium and was inaugurated by J .P Pandey, Principal, Oak Grove School, Jharipani on Monday. The book fair in the school will continue till 22nd May 2018.
Children’s Books, School Books, Fiction, Nonfiction, Classics, Reference, Business and Management, Self Help, Philosophy, Religion, History, Music, Cuisine, Fantasy and Adventure, Thrillers and Graphic Novels were put on display during the book fair.
The students of Oak Grove school purchased books based on the short stories and fiction. J.P Pandey the chief guest said that the main aim of organizing such Pustak Mela in the school is to inculcate the reading habits among the students student’s. JP Pandey further added that the company of good books provides joy to the readers and links them with the nature and the world of words. Every page of a great book is a store-house of man’s best and noblest thoughts.
JP Pandey also added that a student will never feel lonely if he is given a book. The Books are like old friends. Even if they’re read repeatedly, they give immense joy. Dr. Sanjay Dube , Head Master Oak Grove boys’ School said that books are like gold mines. They correct us when we go astray, amuse us when we are bored and give us a pleasant company when we feel lonely. They provide us another perspective to enjoy the beauty of the nature. They take us to the places we have never seen, that height which we have never felt, and the scenes which we are never imagined.. Sanju Pandey, Anand Shukla , Head Master, Oak Grove Junior School, Vikram Jit Singh, Director ,Rainbow book distributors, Dr. Atul Kumar Saxena , Archana Shankar ,S.K Raza, G.D Raturi ,and Anjali Dubey were present on the occasion.
