CHAMOLI, April 20

SDM Yogendra Singh on the directions of DM Chamoli Ashish Joshi took the stock of arrangements for the pilgrims during the yatra season  at holy shrine of Hemkunth Sahib during the meeting held with officials  at Govind Ghat on Friday.

The portal of the Hemkunth Sahib will open on May 25th so considering that the SDM directed the officials to ensure that all the arrangements are complete before the start of the yatra season and any negligence in this regard will not be tolerated at any cost. SDM took stock of the health, safety, drinking water, food storage, cleanliness, toilets and other arrangements and directed the officials to complete them before May10th.

He also directed the officials to ensure that all arrangements are done on the yatra route to Hemkunth Sahib shrine.  He said that the registration of all mules and horses plying on the route was mandatory and directed the officials make all arrangements for it and conduct a verification drive for the workers employed in the hotels and food stalls managing mules and horses in the area.

He also directed to display the tariff for food stalls and hotels and submit the rate list for the mule and horses rent services till  April 25th at his office. He directed the officials to make all arrangements at the toilets on yatra route. He also directed the PWD officials to complete the treatment work at the landslide zone on Hemkunth Sahib Yatra route before May5th.  He also directed the officials to complete the work on slide zone from 6 to 8 km. And directed the forest department and eco development committee to monitor the area around Govind Ghat on regular basis.

He directed the Police and SDRF teams to be deployed on the route as safety measure. PWD officials assured that the works will be completed before May10th. The Peyjal Nigam officials said that the tender process of providing drinking water on the route has ben completed and All TPSP and stand posts will be installed by  May5th. Sardar Sewa Singh the manager of the Gurdwara Samit Govind Ghat, Nanda Devi forest division SDO T.S. Shah, DTDO, Police, PWD, irrigation and other officials were present on the occasion.
