The fire department team led by Senior Fire officer Mussoorie station Brij Mohan Nautiyal gave demonstration lesson to the students of Central School for Tibetans (CST) under its Disaster Management Club during morning assembly on Tuesday.

 This is an effort in synchronization with the week long programme initiated by Uttarakhand Fire and Emergency services of Govt. of Uttarakhand from 14th April to 20th April 2018.

 Brij Mohan Nautiyal impressed upon the students about various causes of breaking out of a fire. Then he demonstrated various techniques and skills to follow to protect and save one’s life and also how to help others.

 He demonstrated how to operate fire extinguishers already installed in the school. He also suggested forming various student committees under this disaster management club. It was also being advised to have sufficient and separate entry points and exit point of the school in case of sudden disaster. He emphasized to conduct a mock drill on an alarming situation so as to be equipped with techniques to face an accidental and an unanticipated situation.  Anita Narula also addressed the students to learn the various skills provided by the fire officer and thanked the fire department of Mussoorie. The Rector of the school Bhutuk Shastri also praised the initiatives taken by the disaster management club to educate the children. The associate coordinator S.C. Rauto proposed words of thanks and the convener of the programme  N.C. Pant organized the workshop on the occasion.
