MUSSOORIE, March 17
Seven-day Preparatory Paragliding training camp organised under the aegis of Regional Tourism Office, Dehradun began near Mussoorie Lake, on Saturday. D 15 participants registered for the paragliding training camp here.
MLA Mussoorie Ganesh Joshi inaugurated the training camp. Speaking on the occasion he said that organized the government is moving forward in the direction of promoting adventure tourism the state.
He said that paragliding training in Mussoorie will prove fruitful for promoting adventure tourism. The government making an effort to curb migration among the youth by providing them self-employment through adventure tourism in the state.
Speaking about the vendor zone in Mussoorie he said that it Mussoorie Municpal council was to build the proposed vendor zone in Mussoorie but due to the lack of departmental synergy, the work has not begun yet.
He assured that he would soon talk to the departmental officials in this regard. He informed the media that the demarcation work for Mussoorie-Purkul Ropeway will begin soon.
A Trainee Vikas Panwar told that before this, he had been trained in rafting and this training would provide him additional expertise in taking up the profession in adventure tourism.
Large number of tourists are present on the occasion including Seema Nautiyal adventure tourism officer tourism, BJP leader Mira Saklani, Cantt Board Member, Pushpa Padiyar, BJP leader Sarojini Kantaura, cantt board member Chandrakala Sa yana, BJP Mussoorie president Mohan Patwal, Rakesh Rawat, Dharampal Panwar and Gajendra were present on the occasion.
