Army, Civil authorities in confrontation in Uttarakhand

In a bizarre incident, army authorities and civil administration came into confrontation in Uttarakhand capital Dehradun when chief minister’s helicopter was not allowed to land at an appropriate place in GTC helipad by army authorities on Monday.

Chief Minister Trivendra Rawat on Monday had to go to Uttarkashi to distribute relief to the Savni fire incident victims but his cavalcade was initially stopped by army authorities. And the sole car of the chief minister was allowed to proceed to GTC helipad altercation with the army authorities.

Later, while returning back from Uttarakashi, the chief minister helicopter could not land at the right place at the helipad and had to be landed close by.

Chief Security officer had lodged a complaint with the police and sought appropriate action. The matter has also been reported to defence ministry.
