Rudraprayag district authorities have decided to go strict with heli companies operating in Kedar valley.
As part of preparations for Char Dham yatra, Rudraprayag district magistrate Mangesh Ghildhiyal while presiding a Char Dham yatra meeting has categorically held that helicopter companies would not be allowed to go for autocratic style of functioning.
Dinesh Uniyal Local leader of traders’ organization asserted that helicopter companies kept a sole aim to earn money. He asserted that heli companies have no parking facilities and thus traffic snarls are a routine feature on roads outside their offices.
Rudraprayag district magistrate Mangesh Ghildhiyal called for a strict check on the workings of heli companies operating in the region. He also asked the restaurant and other hotel owners to display rate list of edible items being provided by them to the pilgrims.
He also held that all hotel and lodge owners must compulsorily register themselves with the state tourism directorate.
