DEHRADUN, Dec 6
As many as two hundred fifty Soil health cards were distributed to the farmers by ICAR-Indian Institute of Soil and Water Conservation, Dehradun as part of World Soil Day observation.
Uttarakhand Cabinet Minister Satpal Maharaj appreciated the Institute’s efforts in preparing and distributing ‘Soil Health Card’ and urged the farmers to make right application of the card. He also spoke about Super Food and Protein Revolution and urged the institute to make efforts in this direction.
Former Speaker and Dehradun proper MLA Harbans Kapoor referred to the importance of utilizing improved farm techniques for increasing farmer’s income and highlighted the great role which the Institute has to play in achieving it.
Dr. D.V. Singh, Principal Scientist Indian Institute of Soil and Water Conservation, Dehradun spoke at length on the activities of the institute in aid of farmers. A total of 40 scientists of the institute, 55 agricultural students and 5 faculties from Shri Guru Ram Rai University, Dehradun, 25 technical, 30 administrative and 25 officer trainees were prominently present on the occasion.
