DEHRADUN, Dec 5
Once being projected as third political option for the people of Uttarakhand other than BJP and Congress, Uttarakhand Raksha Morcha is seeking dissolution and has written to the election commission for the same.
In a letter to central election commission, Uttarakhand Raksha Morcha incumbent president Dr V.K. Bahuguna asserted that the party’s registration with election commission was only uptill 28th Nov 2017 and the party does not want to renew it and thus stands dissolved.
He said that it was unanimously decided in party’s top level meeting recently that there was no need for regional outfit and the people of the state have repeatedly rejected it time and again. He asserted that he was given two options by the party as either to merge it with some national party or dissolve the party and he has chose the latter option.
“During last six years of existence, Uttarkahand Raksha Morcha has contested all elections whether it was 2012 or 2017 assembly elections or even 2012 mid- term parliamentary elections for Tehri lok sabha seat”, Dr V.K. Bahuguna said adding that people have rejected the regional option.
He said that most of the members of the party have either left the morcha due to changing political scenario and some have not renewed their membership and thus there was no point in ensuring continuance of the very existence of the party and thus stands dissolved.
