DEHRADUN, Nov 26
Continuing with their crusade to save Rispana river, Doon based student activist group, Making a Difference by Being the Difference (MAD) continued its Rispana river rejuvenation awareness program on Sunday.
Members of the organization assembled at Astley Hall during early morning hours amidst bitter cold weather. More than a dozen students and volunteers then made their way to Old Rajpur from where they began a trek through the upper riparian area of the Rispana valley.
En-course of the trek, members came across the plastic waste littered all around and discussed the prospects of starting an intense awareness campaign among the youth to ensure the Rispana valley is not left in this condition.
Further, during the course of this trek, members also tried to specifically identify the water retention rocks, specific plantation areas and also bumped into another team from Wadia Institute of Himalayan Geology- and discussed with them possible areas of cooperation.
MAD’s Founding President Abhijay Negi disclosed that MAD members have been campaigning extensively to rejuvenate Rispana river since the last seven years and would continue to do so in near future also.
