Opposition to Padmavati grows in U’khand

The opposition to film Padmavati has been growing across the country. In Uttarakhand, various organizations staged protests in the state capital Dehradun and the Roorkie area of Haridwar.

Held under the agies of Akhil Bhartia Shatriya Mahasabha, the protesters burnt the effigy of Sanjay Leela Bhansali, director of the Padmavati film. The protesters pledged to continue with their stir till the film is completely withdrawn. The protesters on the occassion also sent a memorandum to the chief minister Trivendra Rawat asserting that film directly hurts the sentiments of Rajput community of the country.

Even in capital Dehradun, Maharana Pratap Vichar Manch and Vishwa Hindu Parishad’s Durga Vahini took to streets and burnt the effigies of the Director. The protesters demanded a complete ban on the screening of the film.
