Dehradun, Nov 13
In a major initiative, state government will shortly set up two training centres for students keen for preparing for defence services examinations.
While one centre will come up in the Garhwal region, the other will be set in the Kumaon division of the state. A decision to this effect was taken by the chief minister while interacting with Maj Gen V.P.S .Bhakuni, Commandant Banglore SSB centre in Dehradun on Monday.
In a presentation given to the chief minister, Maj Gen Bhakuni disclosed that the success rate in NDA and CDS examinations was even less than civil services examinations. He apprised that the comprehensive personality test that were part of SSB were toughest and thus results in poor success rate.
He asserted thus it was important that the students going for these examinations get proper guidance and are adequately prepared for the same.
Chief Minister Trivendra Rawat said the youth of Uttarakhand have always favoured a career in armed forces and preparations would certainly help them in a big way. He said success rate of youth from the state can certainly be increased if they get adequate preparation facilities.
