Congress workers offer tributes to noteban victims

DEHRADUN, Nov 10

Exactly an year after noteban took the entire nation by surprise, Congress workers in Uttarakhand state capital Dehradun took out a march holding lit candles for peace of souls of persons who died while in queues in banks to change demonetize currency.

Uttarakhand Congress President Pritam Singh who led the march categorically held that Prime Minister Narendra Modi demonetization decision proved counterproductive of the nation’s economy that is still to recover from it.

He said a large number of people died standing in queues and were victims of  a wrong decision by an elected government at centre. He said people had to face a big inconvenience due to noteban.

Former Congress Minister Dinesh Agarwal said the economy was still to recover from the noteban shock. He said a large number of people have lost jobs as noteban has brought economy into shambles.

A large number of congress leaders took part in the march that started from Rajiv Bhawan and concluded at Gandhi Park.
