The chilly winter mornings are hardly a deterrent for these young men and women. Why not?

With the energy that is evident at the 18th Win Mumby Tournament hosted by Woodstock school, it’s no surprise, really.

For sixteen teams from all over India have converged at the Woodstock School, Mussoorie to participate in the four day Win Mumby All-India Basketball Tournament which began on November 8. The four-day marathon of tournaments is witnessing 16 teams from 4 States competing for the coveted award.

Ajay Mark, Head of Woodstock’ Sports called the competition the highlight of the sporting calendar at Woodstock. “It’s the biggest tournament of its kind in Northern India. AS always, we look forward to seeing some thrilling and exciting tournament, which is set to be competitive as ever.”

Last year champion’s, Delhi Modern School (boys) and Motilal Nehru School of Sports (girls) team will be defending their title in some exciting series of matches with the other teams.

The competition began with the Woodstock School Jazz Band playing at the opening ceremony as the teams took their place in the auditorium on the 8th evening, while Bag Pipers of the Garhwal Rifles Military Band, along with Yak Dance by students of the Tibetan Homes Foundation School will perform on the closing ceremony. DGP Uttarakhand, Anil Raturi will be the Chief Guest at the closing ceremony.
