All is set for Rajpur Nature Festival in Uttarakhand’s capital Dehradun. The festival this year will take place from Nov 4 to Nov 6 at Christian Retreat and Study Centre, Rajpur.
Eco Tourism wing of the Uttarakhand Forest Department and Rajpur Community Initiative, a community based local organization alongwith INTACH, Titli Trust and Nature Science Initiative and Been There Doon That will be hosting the festival. The festival is aimed to promote heritage and nature walks, hiking, trekking and bird watching.
Uttarakhand Forest Minister Dr Harak Singh Rawat will be inaugurating the festival on Nov 4. The inaugural day of the festival will witness conduct of nature walk along Rajpur Jharipani trail. A large number of stalls will also be put up during the festival which will include arts and crafts, indigenous produces and those linked to eco tourism. A visit to Dehradun zoo for school children is also planned for the festival. Film screening will also be done by the state forest department on the daily basis during the festival.
Photography exhibition, butterfly painting competition, puppets programme and cultural programme will be other highlights of the festival. Various food stalls will also be part of the festival.
