PITHORAGARH, August 26
Four days folk festival of worshiping tribal deity Gabla Hya, a form of lord Shiva, in Darma valley of Pithoragarh district, has come to an with prize distribution ceremony at Dantu village, where Dharchula MLA Harish Dhami was the chief guest.
The festival, organized after 40 years in the Dantu village, was participated from the villagers of Dantu, Goo, Philam, Bon Marcha, Tidang song Baling, Tejam and Batan villages from the valley.
“The worship of deity Hya Gabla ran all four days during day time and was followed by cultural programs during the night. The cultural programs were full with songs in praise of the deity which helps the Darma villagers at the time of crisis” said Sundar Singh Bonal who has written a book on Religion culture and geography of Darma valley villages.
