PITHORAGARH, August 26

Besides clamping section 144 in the border districts following Haryana violence in the aftermath of the Dera Saccha Sauda Guru found guilty in a rape case, Uttarakhand Champawat district magistrate Dr Iqbal Ahmed on Saturday ordered cancellation of   plying of roadway buses to various destinations of Punjab Haryana and Chandigarh from depots of Tanakpur   and Banbasa till normalcy returns in those states.

“Keeping security of passengers in violence hit Punjab and Haryana towns in mind, the  district magistrate has on Saturday ordered cancellation of all  roadways buses operating from various  depots of  the  district to towns of Punjab and Haryana till further orders,” said Narayan Singh Bisht district information officer of the Champawat district.

According to  the press communique released by the  DIO, provision of section 144 have  also been imposed in the district to maintain law and order Dera supporters are there in  Tanakpur  and Banbasa regions.

“The  district magistrate has directed to ensure that there is no gathering of more than 5  persons in any place without taking permission  from   authorities  and  strict restriction is also enforced on carrying of fire  arms  and other weapons”, said the DIO
