Love Raj becomes first Indian to scale Mt Everest for 6th time

Ace mountaineer from Pithoragarh, Love Raj Singh Dharmshaktu who is a BSF official on Sunday scaled Mount Everest, the highest peak in the world for a record  sixth  time and became first person in India to do so.

Dharmshaktu who is working with BSF as  assistant commandant achieved this feat while he was accompanied by Yogendra  Garbiyal N. Jogoi  and Rahul Harangal early morning at  6.10 AM  on  Saturday .

 “The expedition sponsored By Indian Mountaineering institute and ONGC , became successful in reaching the peak,  Love Raj  did  so in  sixth time”, informed Reena Kaushal Dharmshaktu, wife of Dharmshaktu and also an ace mountaineer herself, while speaking to some media persons in New Delhi.

According to Reena Dharmshaktu,  Love Raj reached the  top  peak of  world in the past it in the years  1998, 2005,2009, 2012 ,2013 and he  has been awarded with Padma Shri  in the year 2014 and also awarded Tenzing Norgay National  Mountaineering  Award in the year  2003,  for his achievement  in the sphere of mountaineering.

Another mountaineer from same region of Dharchula, Yogendra  Garbiyal   also became successful in reaching the top peak of the work  for the first time  with same group on Sunday. “ a 33 years old  Yogendra  , a ONGC   engineer  has  been Indian  Air Force pilot before  switching over  to  mountaineering  and joining ONGC to fulfill his dreams” said the press communiqué released by IMI   which was forwarded to this correspondent by  Reena Kaushal  Dharmshaktu.j
